About CEE

The Center for Emerging Economies

An independent research and advisory institution focused on the world's most dynamic and least analyzed economies.

Our Mission

Filling the Research Gap

The Center for Emerging Economies (CEE) is a research and advisory institution dedicated to the study of emerging and frontier economies. We produce independent analysis on the economic, financial, and geopolitical forces shaping the world's most dynamic and least understood markets.

Emerging markets are home to the world's future demographic drivers and the most pervasive, persistent, and complex public sector challenges — yet they lack the research infrastructure their importance demands. CEE fills that gap.

We centralize, curate, and complement EM economic development research — connecting the analytical work done in developed economy institutions with country-specific organizations on the ground, and translating that work into actionable insight for policymakers, investors, and sovereign clients.

Our Approach

Demand-Driven Research

CEE's research agenda is shaped by the real analytical needs of public sector clients, not by academic publication cycles or donor priorities. Our work is demand-driven in the truest sense: we study what matters to the institutions navigating these economies, not what is convenient to study.

Our distributed network model connects capacity-constrained public sector clients with a global network of economics, public policy, and finance expertise. This allows us to deploy the right analytical capacity for each engagement, regardless of geography.

Where data does not exist, we build it. Our proprietary trackers and data products are designed to fill gaps in publicly available information on emerging market dynamics — from yuan adoption to critical minerals supply chains.

What Guides Us

Institutional Values

Independence

Our research agenda is not shaped by donors, governments, or commercial interests. We follow the evidence.

Rigor

We hold our analysis to the standards of the best institutions in development economics and international finance.

Relevance

Academic quality without policy relevance is insufficient. Our work is designed to inform decisions, not just describe them.

Discretion

Advisory relationships are built on trust. We protect client confidentiality as a professional and institutional standard.

Network & Partners

Institutional Affiliations

CEE maintains research partnerships and affiliations with institutions across the emerging market analytical ecosystem — from development finance institutions and multilateral organizations to country-specific think tanks and academic centers.

Our distributed model is designed to leverage existing expertise rather than replicate it. We partner with specialists who have deep country knowledge and local networks, integrating their work into a coherent analytical framework.

30 × 30

Our Advisory Goal

CEE is working toward 30 active sovereign advisory relationships by 2030. This is not a marketing target — it is an institutional commitment to demonstrating that independent, high-quality advisory support for emerging economy governments is both viable and scalable.

All advisory relationships are built through direct relationships and referrals. We do not pursue inbound pipelines. The quality of the work is the only business development strategy.
